Monarca, a 74 gun Spanish ship which was captured at Trafalgar but lost in the storm which followed. Hull is cast in resin and has brass etched ratlines, assembly instructions and sail template. Etched brass sails are available as an optional extra, see MTC11.
The San Ildsefonso class of 74 were excellent ships but prone to heavy pitching. Retamosa, in 1794 slightly modified the underwater lines and produced the Montanes class of which Monarca was the second of the 13 ships built for the Spanish navy. Monarca was launched in 1794 and was captured at Trafalgar but lost in the storm later.

President, along with her two sister ships United States and Constitution, was active in the 1812 war. All three were large 44 gun frigates, the President being the lightest and fastest of the three.
