L’Orient a French three-decked first rate ship. Kit is cast in white metal with etched brass ratlines, assembly instructions and sail template. Brass etched sails are available as an optional extra, see MTC05.
Designed originally as a 118 gun ship by Jacques Noel Sane, the plan became the standard for French three-decked first rate ships in 1786. They were the largest ships in the world until the 1830s, though very powerfully armed, they sailed and handled well.
