Redoutable, a 74 gun, 3rd rate under command of Captain Lucas at Trafalgar. Hull is cast in resin and has etched brass ratlines, assembly instructions and sail template. Brass etched sails are available as an optional extra, see MTC11.
Launched at Brest in 1790 as the Suffren, she was renamed in 1793 and became the Redoutable. She was famous for the fight she put up at Trafalgar against Victory and Temeraire . She was probably the best handled ship in the allied fleet but was taken at Trafalgar and sank in the storm after the battle taking many of her crew with her.
