The Bellerophon was one of the Arrogant class 74 gun third rate ships designed by Sir Thomas Slade and was launched in 1786. She was a common class 74 which means she carried 18 pdr guns on the upper gun deck. The Bellerophon was present at the battle of June 1st and was severely damaged at the Nile and Trafalgar. She was the ship that Napoleon surrendered to in 1815.
President, along with her two sister ships United States and Constitution, was active in the 1812 war. All three were large 44 gun frigates, the President being the lightest and fastest of the three. HMS Euryalus 36 gun frigate “Eyes of the Fleet” this standard frigate was Blackwood’s command. Kit is cast in white metal with brass-etched ratlines. Brass etched sails are an optional extra, see MTC06.
